A MESSAGE FROM REVL

IT'S NEARLY TIME.

Athletes from around the globe, welcome to Race the Globe.

On Saturday 24 October, teams from near and far will come together at Superordinary in Brisbane to test their strength, engine and teamwork across five events, each one built to push you, your team and your limits. Whether you've travelled across town or across the world, you're part of something bigger than a single competition.

This manual has everything you need for the day: how to get there, how to check in, how each event runs and the standards you'll be judged on. Read it, know it, and bring your best.

Race the Globe is proudly supported by our partners lululemon, Mindbody, Rhise and Better Beer.
Thank you for backing this event and our community.

We can't wait to see you on the floor.

EVENT LAYOUTEach event opens with the workout for all three divisions side by side. This is followed by a Division Differences table showing only what changes between Everyday, Intermediate and Elite, then one set of standards that applies to every division. Where a value differs, it is written as Everyday / Intermediate / Elite, for example 4 / 5 / 6 x Burpee Bar Touch.
TEAM FORMATTeams of four: two males and two females. Males use male loads and calories; females use female loads and calories.
DIVISIONSEveryday, Intermediate and Elite.
STANDARD FORMATEvery movement is written in three phases (Starting Position, During the Movement, Rep Complete), with the no-rep calls for each phase in the right-hand column.
FRONT RACKThe bar resting on the front of the shoulders with elbows in front of the bar. This is a body position, not a piece of equipment. No racks are used in this event.
HIP CREASEThe fold at the front of the hip. Depth and catch standards are judged by the hip crease relative to the top of the knee.
FULL EXTENSIONHips and knees fully open, standing tall.
SYNCHROBoth working athletes must be shown in the finish position at the top of the movement at the same time. The athlete who arrives first holds until their partner arrives.

EVENT RULESEVENT 01 // ALL DIVISIONS

RULESTANDARDNO-REP / INFRINGEMENT
COMPLETING THE COMPLEXThe Power Clean, Front Squat and Push Press / Jerk must be completed in that order as one continuous lift. Once the bar leaves the floor, it may rest in the front rack between movements, but it must not return to the floor until the Push Press / Jerk is complete. A no-rep on any of the three movements means the complex fails at that weight.Bar returning to the floor before the Push Press / Jerk is complete. A no-rep on any movement.
ATTEMPTS AND LOADINGAthletes may make as many attempts as they like within the 12 minutes and may change the weight between attempts. A failed attempt may be retried at the same weight or a different weight.
TIME CAPThe bar must leave the floor before 12:00 for the attempt to count. Any lift started after 12:00 will not count.Lift started after 12:00.
SCORINGEach athlete's heaviest successfully completed complex is recorded, and the team's score is the combined total of all four athletes' best lifts.
Example: males lift 90 kg and 85 kg, females lift 60 kg and 55 kg. Team score = 290 kg.

RULESTANDARDNO-REP / INFRINGEMENT
ATHLETE SPLITAt any one time, three athletes are working and one is resting: one athlete on the Ski Erg, one on the Row Erg, and one on the exercise (Knees to Chest / Toes to Hip / Toes to Bar from 0:00 – 8:00, Wall Ball from 8:00 – 16:00). Any athlete may take over the exercise, whether they have been resting, on the Ski Erg or on the Row Erg.
BUY OUTThe 4 / 5 / 6 x Burpee Bar Touch is a buy out from the exercise, completed by the athlete LEAVING the exercise. It is only required when another athlete is taking over. If an athlete breaks up their reps (for example, dropping off the bar or putting the ball down to rest) and then continues, no burpees are required. The incoming athlete must not begin their first rep until the outgoing athlete's final Burpee Bar Touch is complete, with both hands having touched the bar.Incoming athlete beginning before the outgoing athlete's final Burpee Bar Touch is complete.
BUY OUT EXAMPLEAn athlete completes 24 reps of Knees to Chest / Toes to Hip / Toes to Bar with breaks along the way. They do not complete any burpees during those breaks. Once another athlete is taking over, the outgoing athlete completes the 4 / 5 / 6 Burpee Bar Touches, and the incoming athlete may then begin.
16:00 – 20:00Ergs only. Two athletes are working at a time, one on the Ski Erg and one on the Row Erg, and athletes may continue to change over at any time.
